Built with 41 stands of Pure Bare Copper yielding a 20 AWG conductor, insulated with Low Density Polyethylene and then encased by a conductive rubber shell, the center conductor is fully insulated. A 36 AWG PBC maximum coverage spiral shield protects the wire from spurious magnetic fields and is encased in an extremely durable, yet flexible jacket.

In mass-produced traditional plugs, several subcomponents and contact points are joined together through press fitting, riveting, or soldering. Because passive instruments like guitars are already very high-impedance, each small junction point within a plug can create additional impedance and alter the quality of audio signals, especially when inferior metals and materials are used. G&H BigFoot plugs address these problems by eliminating unnecessary connection points by using Copper-Core construction. The Copper-Core design uses a solid copper rod that runs from the very top of the plug tip through the stem and body of the plug.
